Senior Chase Leavitt was named preseason All-Southeastern Conference by Rivals.com, and the Razorbacks were picked to finish fourth in the SEC West in the online publication's SEC preview.

Leavitt, Arkansas' leading hitter with a .366 average last season, was the table setter for Razorback attack that advanced to the NCAA Stanford Regional last season. Improving as the season progressed, Leavitt hit .388 in SEC play and was the Razorbacks' leader in average, runs, hit by pitch, on-base percentage, sacrifice hits and stolen bases.

"Chase was our leading hitter last year," Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn said. "He was voted as the team's hitter of the year by the players after the season was over and was a big part of what we were able to do as a team. He had a good summer and looks like he is ready to improve even more this spring."

In what appears to be one of the toughest divisions in college baseball, the Razorbacks were picked to finish fourth in the SEC West. LSU leads the way followed by Ole Miss and Alabama. Auburn and Mississippi State complete the Western Division. In the east, Georgia was slated to finish first followed by Florida, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The Razorbacks open their season on Friday, Feb. 20, at Baum Stadium when they host Washington State. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
