Junior forward Michael Washington recorded his eighth double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and grabbing a career-high 15 rebounds to lead the Razorbacks. Clarke added 14 points for Arkansas.
Bost and guard Barry Stewart each had 17 points to lead the Bulldogs. Reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year Jarvis Varnardo added 16 points, nine rebounds and blocked five shots.
After the game, the Razorbacks sounded their disappointment over the home loss.
"Every loss is disappointing, but just like how we have success, this is the other end of that," senior Marcus Monk said. "That's why we play the game. It's the first conference game, but there are many more to go. It's just a little stumble, but it's nothing major. We just have to keep fighting and put it past us."
Clarke said the next two road games are pivotal for the young Razorbacks.
"Every loss is going to be disappointing for us," Clarke said. "I think the biggest key for this is how we're going to bounce back from it, having the next two games on the road. That'll say a lot about our team."
With such a young team, Pelphrey said it's important for the Razorbacks to keep working to improve, especially with back-to-back road games on the horizon.
"We're gonna have to have a great attitude, understand what it's like to play with some understanding of being a basketball team and be committed to defense," Pelphrey said. "If we do those three things, we'll have a chance to overachieve and get better.
"We definitely need to do that."
