"This is definitely a good idea, especially since these days many students use sites such as eBay and Amazon, and this seems pretty convenient," said Kelsie Ross, a freshmen biology major.
Evan O'Callaghan, a sophomore political science major, agreed.
"I haven't heard about this, but it sounds like something students would be interested in," he said. "Personally, I never buy textbooks from bookstores. I purchase most of them from eBay, and I will definitely check out the Hog Auction."
Right now, Hog Auction has 38 registered users. Sadeghi said he hopes that more students register soon to use this Web site.
"For every book you buy, you have to know how much you can get back," he said. "The UA Bookstore offers students a way to save up to 70 percent on books. There is Midday Madness which offers a 10 percent discount, if you reserve used books you can get a 25 percent discount, and if you are equipped with knowledge on buyback prices and maximize this, you can get 35 to 40 percent back."
With high tuition, overpriced books and a failing economy, saving on books is essential for many students, and Sadeghi said he hopes Hog Auction can be a solution for many.

I have gotten emails about this service for the past few semesters, but every time I log on to check it out (I did register), no one has anything listed. (Continued…)
