For years, it was the match-up that pitted No. 1 versus No. 2 in the Southeastern Conference's Western Division.
This year, the women's volleyball's edition of the "Battle for the Boot" brings together the prohibitive division leader and a struggling Arkansas team.
The Hogs (7-20, 4-13 SEC) face LSU (15-9, 10-7 SEC) 7 p.m. tonight at Barnhill Arena.
The Tigers hold a two-match lead over Alabama and Ole Miss with only three matches to go, meaning they can clench at least a share of the SEC West crown with a win tonight.
"We feel we match up well against LSU, and we are looking forward to have a shot against them at home," Arkansas head coach Robert Pulliza said.
The Razorback homestand continues 1:30 p.m. Sunday with a match against Georgia (16-12, 8-9 SEC).
The Bulldogs are last in the Eastern Division, but they mounted the upset of season so far when they gave Florida their only league loss this year.
Georgia boasts the SEC's second-leading blocker, senior Maria Taylor.
"Not too many teams around the country can stop [Taylor]" Pulliza said. "That doesn't mean we can't beat them if we can just slow her down a little."
Arkansas split a pair of road contests last weekend, beginning with a five-set win at Mississippi State on Friday.
Razorback senior Christina Lawrence saved two of the most prolific matches of her career for the last few weeks, including a personal record 29 kills in Starkville.
Fellow Hogs Heather Royal, Kristin Seaton and Kelli Stipanovich each contributed double-digit kills against Mississippi State.
Arkansas took the first two sets decisively, but dropped the next two by three and two points.
A Razorback spurt in the tiebreaker set prevented the Bulldogs from earning their second league win of the season.
"Mississippi State is a tough team to play in their gym, and we were able to handle them for most of the night," Pulliza said.
Pulliza's squad followed the win with a spirited half of volleyball at Alabama on Sunday.
