Thanks to Harps Foods
I would like to recognize Harps and its outstanding commitment to give back to the community. Each month, Harps donates to nearly any and every organization that needs donations.
Harps has donated countless of items to organizations such as Seven Hills Homeless Shelter and the Salvation Army. They are committed to being there for the community's needs.
I felt that it was time for this outstanding company to be recognized for their willingness to give back to the community.
Thanks, Harps.

Jordan is a 'progressive' choice for mayor
Although I like Coody and Jordan, I feel compelled to endorse one candidate for Fayetteville mayor. I think Lioneld Jordan is the better progressive choice.
Importantly, the Sierra Club and Green Party officially endorsed Jordan based on relatively objective environmental and progressive criteria. ??
Jordan is a firm supporter of the arts, trails, parks and natural regions of Fayetteville.
He voted to protect Mount Sequoyah Woods, Wilson Spring wetlands and Brooks-Hummel Preserve. ??
Jordan has a litany of community-service awards, including Outstanding Community Service Award from UA Staff Senate and a nomination for OMNI's Peace Hero Award, and he was named Outstanding Local Government Official by Arkansas Sierra Club.??
When the UA Associated Student Government proposed early voting on campus, Jordan quickly contacted the election commission to support this policy. ??
Jordan supports the city and Regional Mobility Authority in initiating planning for a light rail system. Coody does not, saying we need not think about this for a "long, long" time. ??
Jordan has pledged to strengthen hillside ordinances and protect watersheds. Under Coody, ordinances for controlling development on sensitive hillsides that lead to excess erosion and water pollution have been weakened.??
Jordan has also urged the state legislature to establish need-based scholarships and to regulate nonconsensual towing of private vehicles.??
While stating he would not unionize police and firefighters as Coody charged, Jordan is a UA union leader. Importantly, unions have long been a central element of progressivism because workers united to balance power between conflicting interests, giving workers a voice within their occupation. ??
Without unions there would be no occupational safety protections, Saturdays and Sundays off, employee health benefits, vacation time, sick leave, child labor laws, overtime after working 40 hours, minimum wage laws, and Labor Day. It is precisely Jordan's union leadership that makes him a man of the working people and my choice.
