I heart Seawolves
Don't Call it a Comeback

Hey, sports fans.
The college football season is winding down. And though a bowl is still within reach, Arkansas has had its share of tough moments this season.
As a fan, watching your favorite team struggle through a rough patch can be difficult. Luckily, this fall, I stumbled upon a way to make the season as enjoyable as ever despite the Hogs' woes.
Allow me to fill you in.
During Fayetteville home games, while sitting in the press box, I was usually focused on what the Razorbacks were doing. And there were plenty of highlights.
Like the time Jerry Franklin had all those tackles in one game. Or the time Franklin had an interception and a fumble recovery. Or the time the normally soft-spoken Franklin started yelling to his teammates, getting them pumped up.
Yes, sports fans, instant classic Razorback moments.
But occasionally, during breaks in the action, a UA media relations person would come by and hand me the scorecard detailing all of the nation's games. It was via this scorecard that I, after years of only caring about the Razorbacks, came across my second love (of football).
Through the scorecard, I became aware of the Stony Brook Seawolves. And let me tell you, sports fans, they're a force with which to be reckoned.
Last week they manhandled Virginia Military for a 40-26 victory. What really made the game impressive, though, was that the Seawolves won mostly through intimidation.
Virginia Military, afraid of the Seawolf pass defense, only threw the ball a total of three times. All three were incomplete, and they ended the game with zero passing yards.
Of course, the Seawolves' biggest game each year is versus Maine. It's the infamous Battle for the Butter.
Maine upset the Seawolves this season, making them the big winners this year as they absconded with The Golden Tub back to Orono, Maine. But can you really call anyone who lives in Orono, Maine, a winner?
Now, I'm sure you may be asking yourself, "What exactly is a seawolf?" and "Do they really exist?"
