"Twilight" the movie is hitting theaters at midnight tomorrow.

Based on the No. 1 New York Times best-selling series with more than 17 million books in print, its author Stephenie Meyer has created a phenomenon that Amazon.com calls "the best book of the decade" and that Publishers Weekly is calling "Best Book of the Year."

"Twilight" is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire.

Kristen Stewart, who starred in "Into the Wild" and "Panic Room," plays Bella Swan, a teen with an alternative style who has just been sent to live with her father in Forks, Wash.

Robert Pattinson from the "Harry Potter" series plays Edward Cullen, a dazzlingly handsome and mysterious classmate of Ella's that she ends up spiraling into a passionate romance with.

This modern day Romeo and Juliet tale is teenage love with a twist.

With more than 350 fan sites devoted to "Twilight," the surge of excitement for its opening night has reached almost everywhere, including the UA campus.

"I want to marry Edward Cullen," freshman Jennifer Kurtz said.

Kurtz has read all the books and is ecstatic for the opening of the film.

"It isn't a typical Disney story," she said. "There is more adventure and danger in it."

"The book is always going to be better than the movie, but I have watched the trailer and I think the movie will be pretty good," she said.

Freshman Mahdi Stiefer agreed.

"It's a great story because it keeps you intrigued and therefore keeps you guessing," she said. "The books are so popular because the characters are so different but yet they still find a happy ending. The movie is going to do great."

Even older students have been swept into the "Twilight" craze.

Junior Madalene Major plans on attending the midnight showing.

"It's interesting because its relatable for college students of all ages because every college student has times in their life when they have to choose between what is right and what their hearts want, and that is a major theme in the book," she said.
