The UA Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred last Wednesday in which a man confronted two students in Lot 40, brandished a handgun and threatened them.
The gun was never discharged and both of the victims were unharmed, said Vance Rice, UAPD spokesman. The incident occurred at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday night.
Words were exchanged between the two parties before the perpetrator pulled up his shirt to reveal a gun, Rice said. The UAPD does not know if the perpetrator is also a student.
"We do have suspect and hope to make an arrest soon," Rice said.
The threat is considered an aggravated assault because of the presence of a weapon, Rice said.
There were six aggravated assaults on campus last year, according to the 2007 Clery Report.
Across the nation, the number of aggravated assaults reported to law enforcement declined 0.6 percent last year, according to the FBI Web site. Of those reported, 21.4 percent of aggravated assaults involved a firearm.

The article should obviously give a description of the gunman so others can let you or the UAPD know if they see the suspect.
