Washington is one of just four returning players from a season ago, and the newcomers were nervous to get out on the court.
Clarke said he tossed and turned trying to sleep Sunday night before the game.
But being nervous isn't necessarily a bad thing, Pelphrey said.
"I think being on edge like that is good," Pelphrey said. "It makes sure you're prepared. It doesn't guarantee you success, but it's certainly a lot better than being lacksidaisical or waking up late."
Overall, though, Clarke said it was just nice to play against someone other than his own teammates.
"It was fun," Clarke said. "We've been doing the same thing every single day in practice - scrimmaging against each other. Then we had the Red-White Game. Now we get to play against some teams we've never heard about, but we just came together and united. It was fun to be able to play together instead of against ourselves."
The Razorbacks play one more exhibition game Thursday against Dillard University.
