While Halloween is not an official holiday, it certainly is treated like one on the UA campus and throughout Fayetteville. Parties, UA campus organizations and trick-or-treating can be found all over town. However, this year Halloween falls on Homecoming weekend, which affects a few students' plans for the holiday.

"For Halloween, I am going to the Homecoming parade and then the pep rally," sophomore Whitney Jones said. "After that, I will probably go to a couple parties and hand out candy."

Even though Homecoming activities are going to be littered throughout the weekend, Fayetteville and the UA both have some options for those who would rather celebrate Halloween.

University Programs will host the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" tonight in the Arkansas Union for those wishing to dress up and have the "midnight movie" feel. Some students will be dressing up as their favorite character from the cult-classic '70s science fiction musical and using props to add to the show, such as throwing things at the screen and having newspapers to use during the scene in the rain.

For Halloween fans who indulge in the local concert scene, a few options are open tonight, as well.

George's Majestic Lounge will host Matt Jones, fresh on vacation from his recent move to California, to perform soul and R&B hits. Prizes will be available for whoever wears the best costume.

Fayetteville's newest music venue, Club Froggys, will also host a concert, except this time, a few of Fayetteville's local bands will be performing under some familiar names and covering some famous tunes. The Good Fear will be Tom Petty, The Memphis Pencils will be The Kinks and Used Curtis will perform as the Beatles.

For those old-school Halloween fans, trick-or-treating is a sweet option that will occur all throughout Fayetteville. And, mostly for UA students, various parties will be happening all over town.

"I'm going to go to a big party and pass out," senior Emily Keener said. "Plus, you get candy, and it's an excuse to dress up."
