Next week will be the first time many UA students will vote, and they'll have the opportunity to participate in an election that has been touted as historical and one whose result will change America significantly over the upcoming years.
Of course, students across campus are excited for the opportunity, and hundreds are voicing their opinions loudly and openly. And the Internet certainly has played a huge role in this, rallying UA students and serving as the primary information source for many.
But while the Internet is a wonderful tool to seek information, be wary of some of the so-called "facts" available out there. After all, a fifth of Arkansans still think Sen. Barack Obama is Muslim, according to the recently released Arkansas Poll.
So instead of simply "Googling" candidates and believing every piece of gossip you read, talk to the people you trust. Read national, state and local newspapers. Watch the nightly news. Research the candidates.
Then, when you're Googling Obama and Sen. John McCain, you'll know to take what you discover on the hundreds of blog sites with a grain of salt.
