Fans could be booing their own team, their own coach or individual players.
If booing Nutt takes the place of that, then it isn't so bad, is it?
The bottom line is that it's okay to boo Nutt.
LSU fans boo Nick Saban, and some even "mistake" his last name for "Satan."
Plenty of college football fans boo Pete Carroll, and several more think he likes nothing more than to run up the score.
Michigan fans boo Rich Rodriguez, and he's their own coach.
Of course, as much as fans will want it to, the booing won't likely affect the outcome of the game.
But it'll definitely make quite a few people feel just a little bit better about this football season.
If nothing else, this year's matchup will only add fuel to the proverbial fire of this new, exciting rivalry.
It ought to be nuts.
