As a highly revered food columnist, I am often asked about my favorite restaurant. And like the king of England, people listen to my every command.

But, as a reader-writer couple, I feel like we are far enough along in our relationship for me to tell you where I most like to dine.

You should be happy to know that it takes less than 10 minutes to walk there from campus. It's also neat because, as far as this glutton is aware, there are no restaurants like it in the Fayetteville area.

The place is called Kosmos GreeKafe.

What is so special about this place?

I counted 35 things on the menu that could answer that question. And I also like fused words.

The first meal I ever ate there was the Chicken Gyros. Normally, I would not have dreamed of ordering chicken in place of the beef and lamb. For whatever reason, the cosmos aligned the way they did that day, and my taste buds are forever grateful.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It all started with the chicken. For some reason, no matter where I am, I usually start eating my gyros by eating just a few pieces of the meat.

Before I could even realize it, I had eaten almost half of the chicken on my gyros because it was just that good.

And, trust me, Kosmos doesn't short you on the meat. They say that ignorance is bliss, but not for this guy. Bliss, for me, comes in the form of a hot pita shell overflowing with meat, fresh tomatoes and onions, feta, and tzatziki sauce, all wrapped in aluminum foil.

And yes, as the sign on the Kosmos counter says, "Feta makes it Betta." So go ahead, shell out the extra 59 cents and get the feta.

The restaurant itself has a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Windows line the front so you can see all of the Dicksonites going about their ways. Pictures of ancient Greek landmarks line the walls, and they fuse well with the modern Mediterranean music, blue walls and trendy tables.

If there were a French Fry Hall of Fame, Kosmos' fries would be in the inaugural class.
