By the end of the next sentence, I'm sure I will have lost some of you for this week.

While I know that not everyone enjoys sushi, I would be doing a disservice to many by not throwing in a sushi restaurant at some point. For those of you who are still reading, thank you.

Let me say, I have never considered myself a connoisseur of sushi. So when I was asked to review Fusion 5, I was a little apprehensive about being able to fill up a column on a food that I enjoyed, but for which I could claim no expertise.

At the same time, however, I was eager to try a sushi restaurant that was not Wasabi. But more on that later.

So, here I am writing a column about little rondelles of raw fish and rice. And to be honest, I'm perfectly fine with that.

For many people, Fusion 5 might seem to be in a fairly inconspicuous location. Those interested can find it in the middle of all of the hustle and bustle that is Joyce Street, right across from McDonald's (it shares the same plaza as Cici's Pizza).

Trust me, finding it will be worth it.

The first thing I noticed about the inside of Fusion 5 was the stylish and elegant décor, which included amazing art pieces. Our booth was cushy, but not too soft, and the table was at just the right level. Laugh if you will, but that really does leave an impression on my mind.

For our sushi selections, my friend and I decided on the spider roll, spicy yellowtail roll and the golden California roll, which I was forced upon by my friend who demanded I not order a California roll. Everyone orders that, she said. From my observations, the only difference between a California roll and a golden California roll is the flavorless "orange sprinkles" on top of it.

See, I told you I don't know that much about sushi.

To throw something in there for my non-sushi eating readers, I ordered a side of fried rice. I thought I got more than a fair amount for the $3.95 it cost. The huge heap of steaming rice could have been my meal in itself, but that can't write a column.
