Fellow jazz lovers will be pleased to hear that the Claudia Burson Trio will perform a free concert for the Arkansas Educational Television Network 7 p.m. tomorrow.

The event is part of the "AETN Present: Front Row" series, which aims to showcase a variety of arts and culture subjects, according to the AETN Web site.

The concert will be recorded live in the AETN studio and will air statewide on a later date.

Joining Burson on stage will be Steve Wilkes, the director of student media at the UA, on drums and Drew Packard on bass.

Burson's love for music began when she was 8 years old, when she heard some of her neighbors taking piano lessons, according to the trio's Web site, www.cbursontrio.com.

A Fayetteville native, Burson graduated from the UA where she studied classical piano, and she later enrolled at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. She continues to be an active part of the UA music department by providing private instructions, according to the Web site. Since then, the Claudia Burson Trio has become a mainstay of the Northwest Arkansas jazz scene.

Burson has received high praise for her ability to put her own unique spin and sound on many classics.

"She is a stylist who can breathe new life into a standard, magically infusing her soulfulness and personality into the music," according to the trio's Web site.

Tomorrow's performance is free of charge, but reservations are required in order to plan for attendance and seating.

It will take place at the AETN studio located in Conway. Plans to attend should be made early, as the studio will seat 150 people, according to the AETN Web site.

Reservations can be made by going to www.aetn.org by calling AETN at 501-682-2386 or toll free at 1-800-662-2386.

For those who are unable to make the drive to Conway to catch this special performance, it will be aired statewide on AETN.

More information about the Claudia Burson Trio can be found on their Web site at www.cbursontrio.com.
