The two best times during the day are sunrise and sunset.

I like sunrise because it gives everyone a new start on a new day. And sunset - I like it because it brings the peace of evening and rest to refresh the body for a new day to come. The new day also brings with it opportunity - the chance to make a new start, and, if chosen, a new day for all people to give more than they take.

For instance, the sunrise allows leaders from every country to broker peace in place of going to war. The sunset then becomes a chance for those same leaders to order a ceasefire, to talk things over, to make a deal and to plan for peaceful relations among its enemies.

Where does that leave us, the peace-loving people on this planet? Some might say our position is hopeless, while others see it as our opportunity to speak out for peace and safety. People from ancient times to this moment have believed one main reason for congregating - for building visible as well as invisible walls about cities, countries and castles - is safety in numbers.

Therefore, countries that place innocent victims in harm's way tend to go against that conventional wisdom.

With that comes the majority of people from across the globe who believe in peace and settling disputes at the conference table or in the courts of justice and not at the point of a weapon.

So why does the majority allow the minority to dictate the rules by which we all must live on this our Earth?

But a weapon can be something other than a firearm, knife or club. It can also be a word out of the mouth of any perceived opposition, or it can be a desire, the yearning to rationalize a position.

History has shown us that the perception of right justification coupled with a sense of greed has killed, mutilated and maimed more people by starting wars than all natural disasters combined for the past 100 years.

How will this trend change when we keep seeing tyrannical government leaders across the globe and dishonest and greedy ways practiced by U.S. politicians and leaders in Washington D.C.?
