However, Vol Walker Hall isn't the only building on campus a wheelchair-user would have trouble navigating in or around, for Memorial Hall also lacks some accessibility, including from its rear entrance accessible parking.

The UA accessible parking areas have become a particular concern to Freer and others who support accessibility on campus. Those without a disability who use the accessible-parking spaces either do not realize or do not care about the likelihood of a disabled person needing the space, Freer said.

The UA parking enforcement office verified that the fine for parking in an accessible-reserved space on campus without a permit is $100.

Faculty, staff or students who are interested in helping the accessibility on campus movement can attend an hour-long presentation with a discussion to follow regarding UA community wheelchair accessibility.

The scheduled meeting will start at 3 p.m. April 28 in the Multicultural Center and will include a PowerPoint presentation with an accompanying lecture, Freer said.
