"My experience with the banquet has been overwhelming, more so when I see people dressed up in different African attires and the performances are just too great," Senessie said.

"I feel the banquet is important because we are able to showcase the African culture to the NWA community, and we are able to help make a difference in Africa, with whatever contribution we will send over there," he said.

"I would like to extend our invitation to all, to come have a taste of the African culture and also to come support a worthy cause by making a voluntary donation," Senessie said.

Sello said participants should "come in large numbers and for a while be transported to the great continent of Africa where you will enjoy the diverse cultures through dances, songs and drums. Let us all remember that this is a benefit concert intended to benefit millions of children who die every day of such diseases like malaria, diarrhea, HIV/AIDS and measles.

"Your contribution will go a long way in meeting Africa's goals of achieving the targets set out in the Millennium Development Goals," he said. "I am proud of our audiences because every year they have come in large numbers and every year they have seen the benefit of being part of a noble cause such as the one ASO is pursuing."

Tickets for the banquet are free and open to the public. They can be obtained from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in front of the Union or at the door.

For more information, contact the ASO at 479-856-2855.
