The UA Police Department arrested a student at noon Friday on charges of possessing marijuana with the intent to sell, police authorities said.
On Wednesday, the UAPD received a tip that Samuel David Emmes had been selling marijuana in Holcombe Hall, said Lt. Gary Crain, public information officer of the UAPD.
After obtaining a search warrant, the UAPD searched Emmes's room on Thursday, Crain said. The police found enough marijuana to suggest he had been selling, but Crain said he did not know exactly how much was found, or how much it was worth.
Emmes was found hiding in a friend's room the next day after he discovered the police had searched his room, Crain said.
The UAPD made 30 arrests for drug-related offenses in 2006, according to the 2006 Cleary Report.
