The UA Campus Card Office moved to a new location, Room 427 on the fourth floor of the Arkansas Union in December. The new location provides easy access for students. Funding from Chartwells, a food service company, made that change possible.

Chartwells supports not only a UA dining services, but also Razorbucks, some kinds of registration and some other transaction fees, said Kelley Line, manager of the Campus Card Office.

The construction on the new office started last summer, after the Union Information Desk moved to the east side of the Union, and was completed in November.

"[When the office was on the second floor], we always felt like we are so far away from everything. It was difficult for students to find us and difficult to give the direction to get to us," Line said.

The Campus Card Office used to be on the fourth floor, but it was moved to the second floor about three years ago so the Union Information Desk could replace it. But, because the office received enough funds for renovation, it returned to the fourth floor.

"It's easier to tell people where we are. It looks nicer and I enjoy being on the fourth floor," said Caroline Harrington, who has been working at the Campus Card Office since last semester.

The new location will also help the Union by providing information, said Lynne Williams, director of Business Services for Student Affairs. The Campus Card Office not only offers card services, but also provides information such as where to find a parking lot, meeting room or the campus bookstore, she said.

"We always have information about different things from card services," Line said.

The Campus Card Office will set up a second work station next month and use it to produce student identification cards. It will also increase its full-time staff members and add more lights to the hallway on the fourth floor so it will have a better luminous environment, Williams said.

"I think it became a more secure environment for the server," Williams said. The office has become friendlier, and Williams is excited about the new office, she said.

"It is more open for students to come in," said Lan Rothrock, assistant manager of the Campus Card Office. "It is much quieter than before."

"The new office is designed better to fit us," Line said. "You are welcome to come by and check it out."
