Box office boredom

"Shoot 'Em Up" is basically like a cheesy comic book only it's one of those fancy high tech moving picture films instead. There's an army of generic thugs, a smart and maniacal bad guy, a reluctant good guy, and a love interest, straight out of "James Bond," that you'll love and hate at the same time.

Well, unless of course you are into lactating prostitutes, then I guess you'll just love her. Of course, she is played by Monica Bellucci, who is the hottest 43-year-old in the world.

Sure, she's old enough to be my mother, but she's hot enough to make that entirely fine with me.

The chemistry between Paul Giamatti (the bad guy) and Clive Owen (the good guy) creates a comedic environment that allows this quirky and cheesy film to flow without becoming stagnant.

The supporting cast which includes Julian Richings ("X-Men 3") and Stephen McHattie ("300") really doesn't contribute anything to the film, but then again, they're not suppose to in this sort of in-your-face action film, and luckily they don't take anything away from it.

The antics really make this movie, with things like oil slicks, killer vegetables, and a combined shoot-out/sex scene being the most memorable.

"...there was not a movie made about a war the country had just fought in that broke into the top 100 grossing films domestically of all time."

Does The Best Years of Our Lives count?
