UGG boots have been seen on almost every fashionable female and some males from seven-year-olds, college seniors and up.

There are even baby UGGs available for purchase.

However, not many are aware that the brand offers an entire line of products.

Apart from the famous boots, there are a wide variety of men's and women's shoes, outerwear, cold weather accessories, bags, and gifts.

The brand originated in Australia, boasting the mission statement, "UGG Australia markets the premiere brand in luxury and comfort," according to www.uggaustralia.com.

They are proud of the sheepskin they use.

"The UGG Australia product platform is directed toward consumers who value luxury, comfort and the highest quality footwear available. Only the finest materials are used in the construction of our products the highest quality leathers and suedes, and of course, the world's finest sheepskin," according to Uggaustralia.com.

UGG Australia is the largest purveyor of Grade-A sheepskin in the world, according to the site.

"We take great care to ensure that every shoe is going to feel great from the moment our consumer tries it on. We've combined the natural comfort features of plush sheepskin with Poron memory foam to guarantee a long-lasting comfortable fit," according to the site.

The brand got its start in 1978 by an Australian surfer named Brian Smith.

He brought a bagful of sheepskin boots with him when he visited California, and they've been selling ever since.

Deckers Outdoor Corporation acquired the brand in 1995. By 1998, they were expanding out from boots into slippers and some clothing.

It was also in 1998 that the boots were first marketed to high-end fashionistas.

Celebrities love the soft shoe, and UGGs have no bigger endorser than Oprah Winfrey, who purchased 350 pair for her entire staff and named them on her "Oprah's Favorite Things" show.

Popularity skyrocketed and the boots found a shelf in Nordstroms.
