Traveler top stories should be more important
Not to sound mean or crotchety, but if I have to read about Facebook in print anymore, I am going to puke. It's bad enough that I had to wait almost 30 minutes to get this computer in the library because people were Facebooking on at least 20 other computers.
Monday was a very important day in America and the headline of the student newspaper read, "tragedy on the Facebook front." Are we really glorifying this Web site so much that changes in the software have finally become front-page news and worth deep literary concern?
I know we all love the social aspect of Facebook but in times like this, I would really appreciate reading about things that are really changing the world we live in today - i.e., something like the secondary bacterial meningitis article or how oil prices are finally starting to fall.
I appreciate knowing that my school newspaper is using its voice to amplify concerns about real issues for the sake of educating those like myself who aren't deep into politics or business. The Traveler is sometimes the only leisure reading I am able to enjoy during the day and I was just saddened by its apparent adherence to pop culture hoo-hah.
