Saxophone ensemble
UA Saxophone Chamber Ensemble will be in concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27. The Ensemble will perform musical selections of J.S. Bach, Edward MacDowell, Ludwig van Beethoven, Percy Grainger, Ronald Caravan and Irving Berlin.
Famous fairytales in action
"Into the Woods," the popular fairytale musical, will be presented by the University Theatre at 8 p.m. April 27, 28 and 29 at Baum-Walker Hall in the Walton Arts Center. A final matinee performance will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30. Call 443-5600 for tickets.
Legal Drug Use?
Terry Nelson, a retired law enforcement agent, will present "Why Drugs Should Be Legalized" at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27 at the UA Science and Engineering Auditorium. Nelson has worked for the U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Customs Service and the Department of Homeland Security.
Party down at Hogstock
Hogstock 2006 will feature singer/songwriter Ben Kweller at 9 p.m. on May 3 in the Greek Theatre. University Programs is accepting applications at the Union, room A665, for students interested in working on the security team or stage crew. Stage crew positions are paid, and students must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. For more information, contact Jessica Farrell at upconcrt@uark.edu or 575-5255.
IID discussion
The Institute for Interfaith Dialog will hold a panel discussion entitled "The Necessity of Interfaith Dialog" at 5 p.m. in the Union, rooms 510-511. It will include speakers from Jewish, Islamic, Christian and Buddhist perspectives, followed by a question and answer session.
Freedom Video Festival
CAT's Freedom Video Festival will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. They will premiere a 3-D film at the event. The FAT CAT Award Ceremony will be at 6 p.m. that night. Tickets are available at the CAT office for $10, and will be $15 at the door.
