Mixed Emotions come together in 'Elizabethtown'

The laughter that comes out for no reason, such as from watching a boy with a shrill voice screaming at the top of his lungs at random parts of the film, is the genius of this movie. There is no great slapstick comedy at work. It is just great dialogue and setting perfectly meshing together to make viewers roll over with laughter.

The music in the background throughout the film adds to setting this quirky mood. It is mostly classic rock, except for the song "Moon River," which plays near the end of the film when Drew's mother attempts a soft tap dancing routine on stage during her husband's memorial.

The soundtrack showcases many great artists, ranging from the Temptations to Lynyrd

Skynyrd. The music doesn't even hit its peak until the end of the film during a 42-hour road trip with planned CDs and road stops to match the tone of a particular song playing at that time.

The film overall isn't about the relationship between Drew and Claire; it's more about watching families interact and seeing the mess these hilarious interactions create.

"Elizabethtown" is a film for people who want to be touched by the random words of wisdom and then laugh so hard that they cry.
