Howard was not the only famous musician to supply his writing. Scotty Wray, Collin Raye's brother and a DeQueen, Ark. native penned "I Wanna Die" with Lambert.
The current single, "Me and Charlie Talkin'," also talks about the good parts of relationships. Lambert composed this song with her father, Rick, and Heather Little. The song just makes you feel good and you cannot help but remember grade school romances. "Me and Charlie Talkin'" has been number one on the Texas Music Chart ahead of Pat Green, Rick Trevino and Mark Chestnut for eight weeks straight. Each week gains more and more spins for the single.
According to her biography, Lambert is the daughter of two private investigators and has even done a few undercover jobs of her own. She uses her own experiences and the people she has worked for in her songwriting. These experiences become part of the third track on her album. "Greyhound Bound for Nowhere" is easily one of this writer's favorites. Her sweet tone makes your ears melt with the softness in her voice as she cries out about a lost love. To broadcast even more variety, Lambert adds a very ballad-like tune in, "There's a Wall." This track also stems from the dark side of relationships.
The Lindale, Texas native is not new to songwriting. In fact, many of the songs on Kerosene were written before she was even out of high school. Lambert wrote "New Strings" and "Love Your Memory" when she was 17.
Overall, Kerosene, is a great album. The great assortment that Miranda Lambert is able to display makes this a record that everyone can relate to. Each song has a new audience and that is a sign that she will appeal to the masses. Be ready to lose yourself in this album because there is most likely a song you can connect with.
