The CD would feature games, quizzes about family money and communication style and an interactive video.

The interactive video will allow students to help a character in the game with a financial problem. The problem and the character, Allen said, will be based off the student's answers from the quizzes.

Allen and her colleagues have been working on the research for more than a year. She worked with Celia Ray Hahoe of Virginia Tech, Lauren Leach of Northwest Missouri State University, Enid Walhart of the University of Kentucky and Renee Edwards of Louisiana State University.

The interviews, surveys, research and CD-Rom were all granted by the National Endowment for Financial Education.

The NEFE is a non-profit organization that educates Americans about finance, Allen said.

In the future, Allen plans to keep doing research about finance. She said the entire project has been fun, especially making the video for the CD-Rom.

Allen urged all students who are in debt to seek assistance and for all students to not get too many credit cards.
