Nationally, the UA could be more competitive
The University of Arkansas ranked 50th among higher education institutions for the number of National Merit Scholars admitted in the current academic year, according to a Jan. 13, 2009, UA press release.

I want to thank The Traveler for its coverage of the Miss UA pageant and your openness to realizing the benefits of that program. Cody Kees's article in which he requested that the university reward the winner of the pageant with a scholarship was a thoughtful and honest assessment of a program that has positively impacted many college women, myself included.…
