Jordan beats Coody in Fayetteville mayoral runoff
The cards hit the table last Tuesday in the mayoral runoff between alderman Lioneld Jordan and incumbent Dan Coody. While most non-local students were packing bags and heading home, the city of Fayetteville changed its mayor for the next four years.
Jordan won the runoff election with a total of 5,796 votes, 57 percent, opposed to Coody's 4,319 votes, 42.7 percent.… Post the First Comment |
Proposed bill aims to extend library hours during finals week
A bill will be presented tomorrow night to keep Mullins Library open 24 hours a day, seven days a week during finals week. The Associated Student Government plans to partially fund the library in order for this bill to pass.

Brough remodel hopes to relieve crowdsDining hall to be upgraded over summer break
Long lines in the Brough Commons dining hall are a problem for the more than 1,500 students who live in nearby residence halls, but plans are being made to alleviate overcrowding in the most central dining hall on campus, according to the Facilities Management Planning Group's Web site.…

UA poll reveals student interest in a December commencement
Three decades ago, three graduation ceremonies were available for UA graduates to attend -- spring, summer and fall. Since the termination of the summer and fall ceremonies, the UA has hosted a single large ceremony in May. However, students have recently shared their desire to once again practice a post-fall semester graduation in December.…
