Dining halls dump trays
All dining halls went "trayless" for the fall 2008 semester in an effort to save energy and keep costs low both for Chartwells Dining Services and for the students.
However, this change brought mixed reactions from students. Though a variety of meal plan options are offered, in general, students pay around $5 to $6 a meal to eat in on-campus dining halls, depending on what plan the student has selected.… 2 Comments |

The University of Arkansas Distinguished Lecture Committee announced that NBA star player turned entrepreneurial HIV/AIDS activist Earvin "Magic" Johnson will speak 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series. Center Street to re-open soon after monthlong construction
Construction on Center Street, which was closed in August because of a collapsed tunnel, might be coming to an end.

Web sites promote carpooling, alternative transportation to cut down on emissions
Residents across Northwest Arkansas are being encouraged to look into alternative means of transportation, such as public transportation and carpooling, to reduce their carbon emissions.
