After a cold Friday night loss, Arkansas rebounded Saturday to win a close game and was cruising Sunday with a series victory over Auburn well in-hand before a late-inning meltdown.

Much to the chagrin of the majority of the sports staff at The Traveler, Monday night's national championship game between Kansas and Memphis was one of the all-time greats. (A large number of the staff hails from Memphis or eastern Arkansas and had Monday night circled on their calendars for a lifetime).… Post the First Comment

The Arkansas Lady'Back softball game split a pair of 3-2 decisions with No. 11 Oklahoma Monday.

Pitching was at a premium on a night where senior Katy Henry and sophomore Miranda Dixon pitched two gems for the Lady'Backs.

Henry, who recorded a win in the first game of the night, allowed two earned runs with six strike outs in seven innings of work while Dixon pitched eight innings, allowing only three hits and no earned runs.… Post the First Comment

It was announced over the weekend that Nolan Richardson, the all-time victories leader in Arkansas basketball history, has been elected to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.

The 2008 class will be honored Nov. 23 in Kansas City.

Richardson was the head coach at Arkansas from 1986-2002 and at Tulsa from 1981-85.… Post the First Comment
