Group serves as 'multi-partisan' news source
The Associated Student Government executive elections began yesterday, and one group is organizing information to serve as a source for what it refers to as "multi-partisan news" related to the elections.
GDI Consulting, an organization founded by a UA student, has begun conducting a series of polls to investigate the visibility of each campaign within the popular realm of Facebook, according to the GDI Consulting: ASG Election Central page on the social networking site.… Post the First Comment |
Student resolution up for vote
A student referendum is attached to the ASG executive elections this week.
Voting began 9 a.m. Monday and will continue through 4 p.m. tomorrow. In addition to deciding the next ASG president, vice president, secretary and treasurer, students will vote in favor of or against four resolutions that have been discussed previously by the student government.… Post the First Comment |
Students compete in design contest
UA students finished competing in the Environmental Design Contest in New Mexico today.
The contest was organized by the New Mexico State University Institute for Energy and the Environment in the College of Engineering and had its 18th international competition at the Pan Am Center in Las Cruces, N.M., according to the Web site.… Post the First Comment |
Veterans represented in new RSO
Although the UA was established in 1871, a student population never has had official representation on campus until March 31, when U.S. military veteran students, as well as any current student in the military, officially became represented by the group MPPOC, Military Past and Present on Campus.…

"I want to see more involvement in the ASG because I don't feel that students are equally represented yet," said Aaron Hess, who is running for the Associated Student Government secretary position.
