Murder suspect awaits extradition

The man accused of killing a UA student Sunday has not yet been transported to Fayetteville from Oklahoma, but it does not appear that he will fight extradition, the Washington County prosecuting attorney said.

Wood remembered for her 'witty' charm

Although she became known around the nation as Katharine Wood, another murder victim, her friends will always remember her as Katie - a spontaneous, witty, strong, eccentric artist, writer and friend.

Wood's murder fourth in neighborhood in two years

The murder of UA English student Katharine M. Wood is the first in Fayetteville this year, according to the Fayetteville Police Department, but it is the fourth in a small area in the last two years.

The last known murder in Fayetteville before Wood's occurred about a half-mile from the Colonial Arms Apartment complex where Wood lived and where her body was discovered Sunday morning.… Post the First Comment

UA students report property damage

The UA Police Department received reports of three separate instances of criminal mischief Saturday, police authorities said.

A student reported Saturday morning that someone had shattered the windshield of her vehicle sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, while her vehicle was parked near the Alpha Delta Pi sorority house.… Post the First Comment

Knights of Columbus host annual fish fry

The Knights of Columbus will have a fish fry at 6 p.m. today at the St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish following the Stations of the Cross at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
